JBF Toys & Trains Opens New Flagship Store in Howald – LEGO, Model Railways and More
A new destination for building bricks, model making and collecting
On Saturday, 10 October 2026, JBF Toys & Trains officially opened its new flagship store at Scillas Shopping Square in Howald. The ribbon-cutting ceremony took place at 9:30 a.m. Brixembourg attended the opening and photographed the many different areas of the shop. From LEGO and alternative brick brands to model railways, scale models and collectibles, the new store offers plenty to explore for families and adult enthusiasts alike.
Opening ceremony and fun for children
Yellow and dark blue balloons decorated the entrance as the JBF team gathered for the ceremony. A colourful inflatable play area with a slide entertained younger visitors on opening day. Inside, extensive shelving, display cabinets and dedicated departments make it clear that this is much more than an ordinary toy shop.
LEGO: technology, magic and collectibles
The LEGO department includes an extensive LEGO Technic selection with sports cars, racing vehicles, motorcycles, trucks and construction machinery. Harry Potter fans can discover Hogwarts scenes, Malfoy Manor and other familiar locations and vehicles. Other LEGO ranges and gift ideas are also represented. There is also a particularly interesting selection of individual LEGO minifigures, accessories and loose parts for collectors and creative builders.
Alternative building brick brands
LEGO is only part of the story. Mould King offers vehicles, technical creations and decorative brick-built flowers. Lumibricks presents elaborate architectural designs, including a record store. Mattel Brick Shop brings Hot Wheels favourites to the building-brick world, with models such as the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL, Lamborghini Miura and classic Chevrolet cars. Products by Pantasy and other brands broaden the selection with buildings, trains, ships and technical creations. GoBricks offers moving display solutions for custom creations, while Brickworld Design products and decorative flower sets add further possibilities. It is a great place to explore alternatives to familiar LEGO ranges.
Pokémon trading cards are also available
The shop caters to collectors beyond the world of building bricks and model trains: JBF Toys & Trains also sells Pokémon trading cards. It is another destination for fans of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, although the selection and availability of specific products may change.
Model railways: Märklin and much more
Model railways form a substantial part of the flagship store. Illuminated Märklin cabinets showcase locomotives, carriages and other rolling stock. For those building a railway layout, the choice of scenery and accessories is extensive. Faller offers many model building kits, NOCH provides trees, grass, scenic materials and miniature details, and Vollmer adds further architectural kits. From houses to railway stations and industrial scenes, there is plenty to inspire a new layout.
Pre-owned models and hard-to-find items
Another attraction is the selection of pre-owned and older products. Shelves contain assembled miniature houses, churches, streets and model railway buildings. Older LEGO parts and minifigures can also be found. These items are especially interesting for collectors and anyone looking to complete an existing layout or collection. Availability naturally depends on changing stock.
Revell, Tamiya and Airfix scale models
Traditional scale modelling has its own extensive departments. Revell offers vehicles, aircraft and technical kits, including an Apollo 11 Saturn V 3D puzzle. The Tamiya shelves feature cars, motorcycles, naval vessels, aircraft and many other subjects. Airfix contributes aircraft kits and more accessible Quickbuild models. Beginners and experienced modellers alike will find plenty of new projects.
A permanent Brixembourg building-brick railway display
There is something particularly special for us at the new store: a building-brick railway layout created by Brixembourg is on permanent display. Our two photographs show the layout from different angles, including a white ICE high-speed train, a traditional steam locomotive, green historic carriages, a freight wagon, a large station building, covered platforms and numerous details with people and vehicles. Modern and historic railway scenes come together in one display. We are delighted that Brixembourg is now permanently represented in the flagship store, and visitors are warmly invited to take a closer look.
DPD and GLS parcel pickup
The flagship store is also a DPD and GLS pickup point. Depending on the shipment, customers can collect or drop off parcels here, conveniently combining an everyday errand with a visit to the shop.
